Tagging Group Project

Our Goal

To enable Tagging in some fashion for our patrons in the Digital Library and in our Endeca Catalog. It might be helpful to review a presentation i gave at journal club in 2006

A Tagging Idea

Slide 20 is probably the most pertinent. I will try to put a better bibliography together, but for now you can see my del.icio.us links below.

Possibilities

1. Create a tagging system on our own

2. Try to get support from the SUS and FCLA to create a state wide system

3. borrow the code used by Penn Tags

4. 3rd part product

  1. library thing
  2. connotea

 Grants

  1. 2006 minigrant proposal
  2. 2007 minigrant proposal
  3. PennTags announced tagging in conjunction with digitizing audio. The DLC will soon have an a/v server, in case that helps support the grant. There's more on it here. Also, maybe apply for a CITT grant? They've been developing documentation on social bookmarks/tagging, so they may be interested.
